~~~AND AFTER THE FIRE A STILL SMALL VOICE
SPOKE TO ELIJAH IT WAS THE LORD~~~
Now Jezebel had threatened to take Elijah's life
and so he fled unto Beersheba afraid that he might die
From Beersheba, he went a day's journey into the wilderness
and there an angel fed him twice with water and bread
In the strength of this meat, Elijah journeyed forty days and nights, on to Mount Horeb, to see if God was in sight
On Mount Horeb, God sent the wind, an, earthquake, even fire,
Elijah looked for God in these wonders...but He was not there
And after the fire ... 'a still small voice' spoke to Elijah!
It was the Lord.
"What doest thou here, Elijah? " said the still small voice?
And Elijah said, "The children of Israel have killed all
thy prophets, and seek my life. . .I am the only one left. . .
And God said "I have left me seven thousand which have not
bowed the knee to Baal."
Then God told Elijah. . .his footsteps to retrace. . .and anoint Elisha
to take his place.
Elijah's work was almost over. . .He had lived for the Lord, , , , ,
~~~~~And God speaks to each Christian~~~~~ in ' a still small voice'.
